The Organizing Committee is very pleased to invite you to Avila for the 7th International Hutton Symposium on the Origin of Granites and related rocks. Avila, one of the finest remnants of Europe's medieval era, is a small city in South Old Castile, located about 115 km from Madrid. The meeting will be held on the campus of Avila Polytechnic School from the 4th to 9th of July 2011. The Pre- and Post-meeting field trips will complement the conference. The symposium will be based around four main topical themes in granite research that will be addressed by internationally renowned researchers. Keynote talks will be given in the mornings and early afternoons. Late afternoons are to be dedicated to presentations by young researchers (MSc and PhD students and post-doctoral fellows) and posters sessions in which all participants are invite to contribute their research. The meeting will be five days long, four for conferences and one for a mid-conference field trip to the Gredos Mountains.
